Does it need removing?

Unlike, some other Asbestos Surveyors we will not automatically advise to have Asbestos removed which is sometimes done to create additional revenue! Where it is possible the best thing is to leave asbestos material that is in good condition alone. However, the only way to really tell, is to instruct a qualified Asbestos Surveyor, who will advise you on this.

Generally, material in good condition will not release asbestos fibers. THERE IS NO DANGER unless fibers are released and inhaled into the lungs. A Survey, will firstly advise as to whether the product is in fact Asbestos and then advise on its condition and whether it poses any risk. If, it does not pose any risk, check material regularly. Do not touch it, but look for signs of wear or damage such as tears, abrasions, or water damage. Damaged material may release asbestos fibers. This is particularly true if you often disturb it by hitting, rubbing, or handling it, or if it is exposed to extreme vibration or air flow.
